  Nutrition and Consumer Health

  The purpose of this course is to present basic information concerning the body’s need for energy-yielding nutrients. Topics related to food supply, food-borne illnesses and energy balance are included. This course introduces students to nutritional themes from conception to old age. It describes the enormity of world food problems and emphasizes the importance of becoming sophisticated consumers in today’s world.

III. Other Course Requirements - 16 credit hours

Students in Human Performance and Recreation will enroll in a total of four (4) hours of Honors Thesis to develop and complete the requirement of a senior project or thesis. Additionally, students will complete twelve (12) hours of free electives.
